Last week, I promised you I would talk about part 2 in the Captivate and Convert Podcast. Here this week, in the second episode, we get a bit more serious. I am not one sugar coat healing, or trauma, or recovery and, of course, the promise of success.
Healing can be like a fairy tale dealing with the problem of life in a fallen world. It's true.
We are living in a world of fallen promises.
Wrapped up in uncovering that is messy!! Healing happens with the right tools and patience.
Looking more deeply and reflecting on my promise, I remembered that fairy tales follow a set pattern, which almost always begins in the same way.
Hansel and Gretel were starving.
The ugly duckling was hideous enough to be rejected by his mother.
Red Riding Hood's grandmother was dying and eaten by a wolf.
The three little pigs were sent out into the world because their mother couldn't parent them.
No fairy tale can exist without struggle—in a world without suffering. There is no story, no triumph, and no reason for the leap of faith unless we can observe the contrast.
The same goes for reality. The world gets heavy, and all the stories appear when you become the hero.
When everything is going well, we wonder where the heroes have gone.
Some prefer to use their power and authority to lead others astray and promise something unreal. We can capture the struggle and manage the sobering truth, particularly the predominantly false online empowerment movements.
When it comes to building the life you want, there is no going back, and there is no running ahead. And while it can feel uncomfortable, when the first seeds of initiation stir within, you can be sure that you are being invited to go somewhere more profound and more sacred than we ever knew existed before.
The trickiest part of the fairy tale, the part that people are so very willing to remember and the one element that no one in the world has ever quite managed to find.
Happily ever after.
It's okay to look after your growth and healing before offering it to the world.
It's necessary if you want to continue to do so sustainably.
Then the story moves from a fairy tale to creating a legacy of healing.
We can’t talk about success without the true mystery we all must endure.
My superpower: deep listening to growing deeper affiliation and unity with a greater working community.
