figuring things out
So, I took a break. Some of you let me know you are feeling slightly slower these days.
I know the last couple of years have been all about finding balance. And that has sometimes been challenging! But it is worth every second as long as we keep moving forward, which brings me to my next point…
We all have a story, and it's up to us how that story is told. These stories heal us in times of grief and remind us about our shared humanity when times feel divided.
The human spirit needs this kind of storytelling.
So today, I am here to tell you a few things about myself, conversations I have not shared before.
Somedays, when I find myself scrolling, I see the word "Coach" it makes me want to crawl under my desk and hide.
Coaching is a tricky thing.
I am in recovery, but as it turns out, I am recovering many hard truths from my past. I have a very open and honest discussion over @ Free Your Inner Guru with Laura Tucker. Together Laura and I expand on the possible origins of difficult discussions from both sides related to intergenerational trauma.
In this 2 hour interview, we dive deep into what has brought me the most peace in my practice, and the openly and honestly work I continue to work on.
If you listen in, please hear with grace. I want to offer something different.
As Laura said in the first five minutes into the conversation, she comes from a family that can turn up, debate, disagree and hug each other on the way out the door.
The one thing that never changes is my commitment to taking responsibility and working with integrity. I am relentless, learning new perspectives or improving old ones - because it's the only way I know how to make sure you are taken care of too! So while this may not be easy at first- please stay close so we can heal together.
By acknowledging the pain of our past, we can move towards a future to be trauma-informed and minimalize perpetuating harm.
Thank you for your trust,
PS. Laura is a survivor of the Sedona sweat lodge with James Author Ray, and she shares her story with hope. She was able to educate others so they could navigate the self-help industry safely, without being victim-shamed or intimidated by those in power within this space. She has appeared in the feature-length documentary Enlighten Us: The Rise and Fall of James Arthur Ray, CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin, William Shatner's The UnXplained, and the Wondery podcast Guru: The Dark Side of Enlightenment.
In 2017 Laura created Free Your Inner Guru®, a podcast for ethical leaders and discerning seekers.
