Dear you,

Greetings, friends and fellow travellers! I write to you from a hotel room in Montreal with a heart full of motherly joy and nostalgia as I stand at a poignant intersection of time and transformation.

You see, my youngest daughter is graduating from university today. A Y2K baby, she arrived just as the new century rolled in, marking time with a golden thread woven through the last 2.4 decades. With her graduation, all four of our wonderful children have embarked on their adult paths. It's a momentous occasion for them and me, as it symbolizes a transition for my children and myself.

Raising four kids in a blended family has often felt like a tightrope walk. We balance the art of setting an example with the necessity of letting them witness the full spectrum of life—successes, struggles, resets, and all. As parents, we strive to show our children how to navigate life's complexities while ensuring they know it's okay to stumble and rise again.

Through this, I've discovered a profound truth: the privilege of watching my children grow into healthy and prosperous adults comes with the equally important privilege of revealing my true self to them. No longer just the unwavering pillar they leaned on, I can now share the parts of me that, for years, remained tucked away. It's liberating to discover my dorky weirdo-ness and a complete human being with many kinks, struggles, and evolving identity.

In this new chapter, I've found myself embracing an unconventional path of self-discovery through exploring my erotic self with the Body Electric School. This journey has been empowering and enlightening, offering me a deeper connection with myself and, by extension, with the world around me. It's a testament to the idea that self-awareness, self-love, self-discovery, and self-care are ongoing processes that belong to us, regardless of where we are.

I aim to build better relationships with myself, friends and family, you, the OhMyHeart reader, and the world. I want to be bolder through self-reflection, creative expression, or even unconventional avenues of self-discovery; each step brings me closer to a more authentic and fulfilled existence.
