Dear Readers,
So much has changed. First, thank you. Many of you reached out after my last message with generosity, honesty, encouragement, and what felt like standing ovations from the back of the room. I’ve carried your words.
To the dozens of new readers who joined recently, hello!! Welcome, I’m really glad you’re here. Things shared in this space tend to be a little messy, often tender, occasionally funny, and always rooted in honesty. I plan to keep showing up with stories that matter, and I hope you’ll feel at home here.
More than an update, I’m offering an invitation.
How are you?
What are you learning, losing, rebuilding, or reclaiming?
What’s been shifting in your world?
What are you holding, creating, or finally setting down?
Many of you have asked how life is going on my end, so here’s the track I am on now.
What’s Different
Living alone for the first time in decades.
Moving through a second divorce with less chaos and fewer illusions.
Letting go of a home full of memories and parting gently with my dogs.
Repairing and deepening my relationships with my children without rushing the process.
Slowing all the way down this spring so stillness can sink in.
Leaning into safety and steadiness, letting my body relearn calm.
Learning to receive care and help from friends!
Still sober and steady, and I’m learning what it is to truly feel safe.
Growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs on my tiny condo deck.
Also, growing courage and a small, quiet kind of hope.
Dancing. Walking by the water. Allowing things to be simple.
Practicing softness toward myself in love, in boundaries, and in not knowing what’s next.
Most days, grief still sits beside me.
But so does calm.
With less noise, I can hear more of what matters.
I let myself laugh again and cry when I need to.
If you’re also in the middle of change, you are not alone.
If you feel moved to reply, I would genuinely love to hear from you.
And if you’re reading quietly, your presence still matters to me.
May your week be full of friends and one nice new person.
I especially liked the comment: "And if you’re reading quietly, your presence still matters to me."
