Dear people of Oh My Heart,
Following our recent touchdown into spring with thunderstorms crashing in and the breathwork trial session bang-up, I trust you're doing well.
As we delve into a new era of breathwork experience lovingly called Pleasure Fuel, I want to share a heartwarming story.
You see, my best friend has a darling son. This spirited five-year-old occasionally believes he must compete with me for his mother's attention. In his eyes, I sometimes become " the opposite of bestie," the one who seemingly steals precious moments away with his beloved mom.
One day, while conversing with my best friend, her son tugged at her for undivided attention, insisting that her focus was solely on him. With patience and love, my friend asked for just five minutes to finish our conversation, pleading for his generosity with her time with me, her bestie. In response, he scowled, huffed, and explained, "No, that's your worstie."
And so, when our recent trial session encountered another technical hiccup, I was chuckling, recalling how often I messed up and felt like the worstie. I allowed this to be an endearing moment. I am undoubtedly hopeful I am not the worst?? But first, let's reflect on why we engage in breathwork: to cultivate resilience, embrace imperfection, and find joy in the journey. It is possible to find that here.
Your commitment to this practice is inspiring. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share it with you and navigate through the minor bumps in our session with humour and full human acceptance.
Thank you to those who made it out. We had a great time together!
I sincerely apologize to those who couldn't join us due to my mistake. Your faces on Zoom were missed, and I assure you I will do better to ensure smooth sailing in our future sessions.
Let's take a breath and acknowledge the beauty in the ways you found pleasure this week and the lessons it teaches us about resilience and adaptability.
Thank you for being a part of this community as I readjust my rusty wheels back on the breathwork road to motor past these occasional bumps together.
Looking forward to our next session on April 26 @ 7 pm, join us if you wanna!
