By the way.Â
Falling in love with the world's most romantic city was easy. I am smitten to report back.Â
Paris is indeed for lovers.
I loved: (even when love has been hard)Â
Travelling on two wheels! I have not biked in 20 years. The most intimate Paris moments with life (and death) happened while perched on two wheels stinking of sweat, heart pumping with the joy of remembering the joy of liberty and feeling playful at the utter simplicity of exploring versions of an untamed city.Â
I have opened myself up to new kinds of pleasure. Working with a Somatic Sex Coach, I am learning the connection to experiencing pleasure while healing emotional pain has taught me that delight and eros are everywhere! Paris is a playground for all of it. Knowing this, I am bringing it home by exploring the newness and busting into the juicy bits of my not Paris life. For instance, skinny dipping during my morning coffee after Wordle - today's spontaneous summer delight.
The people of Paris don't give a shit. Maybe they do and share it freely, but I don't speak French; whatever was yelled out of car windows or at crosswalks did not register. Because of this, I learned more about expanding myself by people-watching, admiring the hundreds of off-leash dogs and taking in the fashion of the thousands of people that seem to know how to own their bodies and be confident in that space.
Sharing art, architecture, music, food, landscape, roads, and culture is a rich portal to understanding this world. I have developed a much smaller window of tolerance for public spaces in the last three years. After this adventure, I am ready to titrate back into the world with a newfound sense of security and trust in humanity.  Â
How my best friend Tarzan brought it all. She SHOWED up in the most beautiful way a bestie could be her best! Our (unfortunate) complicated history (thankfully) has brought us both to a lovely place in our relationship. We could safely be all we are and get it into it with our brave hearts. I am so grateful to Tarzan for showing her brilliance (in French) and leading the way.Â
The Coaching program through the Lalich Center is on hold. We discussed the project in depth during our meeting with Janja in Paris. It became apparent that there are still unanswered questions regarding the safest way to deliver this program. Therefore, we have postponed the class temporarily to ensure we develop the content more extensively.
I am playing it by ear this summer. If an email lands in your inbox less than usual, it is simply because I am taking a nap, or a dip, scheduling an extra beach date or walking a few more kilometres with my dogs. Just here, slowing down for a season, planning to be kissed by the sunshine with my SPF 50 on.
I love that you are here.
See you around sometime,Â
