In 2019, I was a very different person.
The image above with the indignant question, “without the weight of the world, who are you?” sat at the front and center of my life.
That hero image is set up proudly, waiting for the hungry eyes of clients, hoping to reveal the answer to all their life’s problems. I was happy to delve into all realms and dimensions to find your unique answer.
It was the image of my newly branded website and my coming out as a psychedelic guide and Integration Coach. I was (more than) a little bit culty back then.
That interaction online got me into super uncomfortable but important conversations. I want to share why it is important to find your way. But…
First, the question?
Who would you be without the weight of the world?
Answer: privileged, entitled, practicing Coaching and wellness from a lens of white supremacy, and not acting as an ally or using my privilege as an anti-racist, but encouraging and helping people give up the weight of the world because that would help everyone evolve for the better.
Next question:
Who would you be if you carried your share of the weight of the world?
To carry my share of the weight of the world, I strive to be:
Empathetic, resilient, innovative, inclusive, encouraging creativity, forward-thinking, and embracing new ideas to address complex problems prioritizing the dignity of all people. Being a world changer humanitarian: advocating for all humans and working towards equality and justice.
To carry my share of the weight of the world in action looks like:
Compassionate: Showing kindness, care, and concern for each other, recognizing the interconnectedness of our world and the responsibility of self-care as much as the collective well-being.
Collaborative: Working with diverse clients to build consent practices and find sustainable solutions.
Sustainable: Promoting personal authority for longevity IRL and striving for long-term viability.
Transparent: Committing to honesty, open communication and accountability, promoting a culture of transparency in decision-making.
Adaptive: Being flexible and responsive to changing circumstances. My unwanted invitation to be adaptive when my husband threw a massive curve ball into our marriage, I reached out for different support and discovered it was a necessary turning point to recognizing the dynamic nature of sharing power.
Courageous: Facing brutal truths and making tough choices, even in opposition.
These qualities guide me in carrying the weight of the world and striving for a better future for all equity seekers, balanced truth-tellers, and diversified, inclusive negotiators.
As a newly out equity seeker, balanced, truth teller, diversified, inclusive negotiator, my educational journey of unlearning codependency and nurturing healthy self-reliance and independence offers this as a path towards interdependence, personal agency and autonomy. I am currently immersed in relational healing through the Wheel of Consent by Dr. Betty Martin. We can all know our power for who we are and how we help shape the world to Serve, Take, Allow, and Recieve.
Thank you for letting me learn in front of all of you.
To all our challenges, lessons and joys.
Love,
