That’s so interesting, I actually thought that the term “at cause” was uniquely a NXIVM concept but I’m not surprised since they borrowed a lot of their cult lingo from other cults, like Scientology, for example, where the term “suppressive” was used to describe people who got out.
The clarity you bring is a service to all of us who have experienced power-over abuse in any form. This kind of steady untangling IS an essential antidote to our lost months/years/decades of discernment. It helps regain the turf of self that was eroded through involvement in cultic, controlling groups. Bravo and thank you.
