Watching you try new things and hearing your stories about it helps me remember what’s possible. Thank you for that. πŸ’—

Thank you! It is a quote I adapted for myself understanding my part as a whole being, inspired by reading from Thich Nat Hanh

"I gradually saw it was not expected to be immediately perfect." Yes. Love this. Happy New Year. This was just the message I needed after today's challenges. Thank you!

Sheree!! Thank you for being here! I am excited to see you comment!! You have also taught me that we can be learners and not always perfect in my writing. I love that you needed to hear that and we can inspire each other! There is so much to look forward too!!

I needed that reminder too! And it made me think, what if the only person that required or expected perfection from me was me?

YES!! and, what if you were the one that also defines that perfection based on your own needs and what your body is telling you?

It’s funny how some of us find our tribes and stumble across a group of people that don’t hang a shingle that says β€œWe’ll help heal you here” but end up doing just that in the most subtle, gentle and kind way. If falling out of a boat endears you to a team, you know you’re with the right people.

Glad you found your team! I love kayaking but paddle solo and go out with other solos. How many does the team kayak hold? What is this called?

Hello Susan!! Thank you! A kayak team can be as many people as the Coach is willing to train. The team I am on is small, only 12 people (funny note: there are 3 women named Kathleen!! - I am K-Oh to everyone there!) The boats we train in are all K1 which is a single person boat, but there are K2, K4 boats in the races. We did a few drills in a Dragon Boat and in a War Canoe to get the team introduced to those strokes - those boats have 16 paddlers. I train at the South Niagara Canoe and Kayak Club at the Flatware Center on the Welland Canal. (in southern Ontario)
