Beautiful Humans,
How do I stand in my own skin and breathe?
Let's talk about why I share so openly about my struggles. Why would it be necessary to uncover the jagged edges of my own story? Where engagement means showing my vulnerabilities as an invitation to a better understanding. I hope that by being honest, I can create a ripple around me others can step into and feel safe with their story and things about themselves - it's a form of leadership I wish I had.
We need community more than ever.
We need radical self-care practices more than ever.
And one of the most extraordinary acts of self-care is giving ourselves the time and space to process all these complex emotions.
Can this exploration and sharing lead to healing, celebration, and transformation?
During some of the most challenging moments in my recovery, I found my heart leaning into the maternal care and love I received from trees. Returning from the forest daily feeling loved and strong. I could breathe in the vital connection to the loving life source felt there. The vibration of the trees seemed to travel through the soil. I felt the calling to the earth to "look down" the mystery slowly unravelled. My connection to the trees, earth and the cosmos arrived through the mycelium. Mushrooms are more than just a psychedelic accessory; nature is more than novelty.
My unlearning has included education on integrating points from an informed and sensitive place through nature. Together, we can honour the depth and breadth of our feelings, plug into our own beliefs, and locate the highest and best next steps of your individual activism.
Check out this quote from the podcast episode @psychedelicstoday:
"Healing could actually help shift what's happening. It can help turn things in the ways that they need to be turned, in the ways towards love, towards justice, and towards actual equality. It's only when we are healed that we can actually do that; 1) because we have enough energy to do that, but also because we have enough vision and foresight to do that. The clarity of what it means to actually love only comes when we are healed." - Courtney Watson, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and certified sex therapist @doorwaytherapeutics
I am only able to come from my lived experiences. For me, nature leads me to work with psychedelics. This has been the process of receiving deep insight so that I can do deep work.
Sending you so much love, compassion, and gratitude for your bravery and way of showing up during this time.
To more kindness. To more justice and hope.
I wish you more,
